Description
New research has revealed that our brain has its own waste-disposal system, solving a decades-old mystery about how the brain clears toxins from within that three-pound grey lump. Neurons are the stars of the show in the brain, but glia, or support, cells far outnumber neurons and perform vital jobs–like the “glymphatic” system (glia + lymph) that literally washes the brain clean each night while we sleep. Learn about brain health over the lifetime, the importance of good sleep, and we’ll touch on neurodegenerative diseases. We’ll explore practices and teachings from the yoga tradition to support rejuvenating sleep and brain health.
